ACT is constructing a new demonstration facility for Biowork GmbH for the intensive composting of biowaste in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district. The project includes four mobile silos with a total capacity of 26,000 metric tons of biowaste.
Four drive-through silos for the intensive composting process
Intensive composting takes place over a period of about four weeks in an enclosed facility under a membrane cover. Using this technique, ACT helps reduce odors and other emissions to such an extent that the material can then undergo secondary composting in an open area. At the same time, this ensures compliance with the requirements of the TA Luft.
